TRAINING

*Remember a Dog Thinks Like a Dog

Dog issues Pete Chan Dog Trainer justgooddogs.co.uk Brighton

I believe 1-2-1 dog obedience training is vital if you are having problems daily with your dog. Puppy classes and socialisation is also essential for dog's to adapt to our world. In my experience being the pack leader to your dog will not only give them respect but they will respect you even more.  Generally speaking, using your body, mind and heart is the basic essentials you need to address to your dog that you're capable of taking charge and that they are in good hands. The key is to reward, praise and only apply affection at the right time.

1-2-1 training  is done at the comfort of your own home, not only is it convenient but the most effective environment. After all this is the place your dog spends the most time with you. The 1st session will involve a free one hour consultation, assessing the behaviours and most importantly what you as a owner would like to achieve at the end of the training. Positive rewards can also be highly rewarding for owners as well as the dog. I only use positive reinforcement training to help the dog associate and learn what is right or wrong in your home environment. If the problems are related to pulling on the lead, a personalised plan will be setup in a quiet area of your choice to help control the behaviours.

Dogs have different temperaments and personalities which is why each dog is  tailored to a plan to meet individual requirements and needs. My approach is to help the owner build a better bond with their dog and only use methods that I feel will work for the individual dog.

I normally only work in Shoreham, Portslade, Brighton and Hove areas.  If you live outside of these areas I may consider to travel. Please send me details of the problems you are having with your dog and what you expect to achieve out of the training. Remember to be realistic about your goals, a dog is not a robot and will require time to adapt to new changes or behaviour. My role as a dog obedience trainer is to help train you (the owner) in having a better bond with your loved one.
